LGBTQIA+ Resources

queertheology.com

This site is packed with information for queer & trans Christians seeking liberation from theology that does not affirm them. Teachings, resources, and workshops are available. If you’re looking to be seen and loved just as you are, this is the place, Beloved.

gaychurch.org

A directory of gay-affirming churches in the United States. The founders of this website are committed to keeping this data relevant and useful, so check back periodically. Also contains helpful information on scripture and other resources.

thetrevorproject.org

From their website “Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25.” The Trevor Project has undoubtedly saved thousands of lives by providing much needed intervention resources to a vulnerable and underserved population.

pflag.org

Operating since 1973, PFLAG was created by a mother to support her gay son. Since its founding, it has grown to become the largest support organization for LGBTQ+ humans. Local chapters help bring the resources of this national organization closer to home. A great website for those desiring to be an ally and supportive. Also a good resource for legislation impacting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people.

churchclarity.org (Use with Caution)

Church Clarity is a database that attempts to provide information about church policies regarding LGBTQIA+ people and women in leadership. Some may find it a helpful starting point when researching a church.

However, Rev Karla no longer recommends Church Clarity as a reliable source for determining whether a church is truly affirming of the LGBTQIA+ community. While the organization has recently undergone significant restructuring and appears to be making improvements, concerns remain regarding transparency, accountability, and the accuracy of some church listings.

If you choose to use this resource, use it only as a starting point. Do not rely solely on any church directory, database, website, sermon clip, or marketing material when evaluating a church's beliefs and practices.

It is still essential to ask direct questions about LGBTQIA+ inclusion, leadership, ordination, marriage, membership, and participation in the life of the church.
